Loyal^® brand hand cleaners were founded by Floyd Eddy and his wife in the early 1920's. It was set up as a "mom & pop" business in the Eddys' garage. Mr. Eddy was working for Goodyear Tire. After handling tires all day, his hands and arms were coated with carbon black. Not being able to find an adequate hand soap, Mr. Eddy started experimenting in his bath tub. He would take samples of his product to his coworkers at Goodyear for testing. It was a success. His sawdust based hand soap became Can Sop.

Business was expanding at a great rate. The Eddys' moved the garage based operation to a location on Central Avenue in South Los Angeles. That is where they developed Pumice Paste. This product was grittier than Can Sop and mechanics preferred it.

Royal Soap still manufactures Household Cleaner, Can Sop and Pumice Paste hand soaps. These original ecology minded products attracted the slogan “Hurts Only Dirt” ^®.

In 1940, Royal Soap moved into a larger location, continuing to develop new products. With World War 11 raging during the 1940's, the raw chemicals required to produce the hand soaps were not available. Out of necessity, the Eddys' began manufacturing waterless hand cleaner. A new age in hand cleaners was born. In 1956, Royal once again moved into a larger facility.

Mr. Eddy retired in 1965. He sold Royal Soap to W.R. Houston and D.V. Hester. Royal Soap again moved into a larger facility on Miner Street in South Central Los Angeles. Mr. Huston and Mr. Hester nurtured the business for six years before selling it to Michael Adler in September, 1971.

Michael's philosophy was to make the best product possible. He started by improving upon existing formulae. He also added many new products to Royals’ line.

In 1977, Michael combined the outstanding features of the pumice hand soap and the waterless hand cleaner to develop WSA, a waterless hand cleaner with pumice scrubbers. Michael also found that in addition to producing a superior product, packaging was very important. Royal Soap was the first to package a waterless hand cleaner in plastic pails. Presently, Royals’ hand cleaner (either Royals’ label or private label) can be found in over 85% of the service stations in the Los Angeles Area.

Michael's son, Jeffrey, grew up in the business. In 1980, after studying sales, marketing and computer technology in college, he joined Royal full time, bringing a new era to Royal Soap. Modern technology aided in sales, production, inventory and packaging.    

In 1984 the hand cleaner industry started to make another change. This time it was for the GREEN MOVEMENT. Royal quickly responded with the SUPCO^® line of natural citrus hand cleaners and degreasers. They were a great success. SUPCO^® hand cleaners are being sold across the US, Canada and even exported as far away as New Zealand.

Royal Soap moved to its current home in July, 1990 - 15,000 square feet of manufacturing space and corporate offices. These facilities include a quality control laboratory, a Culligan reverse osmosis water system  and state-of-the-art mixing equipment.

Currently, Royal Soap manufactures over 20 different hand cleaners and packages them 13 different ways. Custom blending to customer specifications is available for all hand soaps and cleaning chemicals, packaged from the smallest size to large tank trucks. We also offer an easy private label program with a 10 case minimum - a real hit with our distributors!

In May of 2005 Jeffrey bought the Loyal^® and Supco^® trade names and started operating under Royal Solutions, Inc.

Royal Solutions, Inc. is registered with the Food and Drug Administration and we manufacture antibacterial hand cleaners, protective creams and hand lotions.

2005 and beyond are both exciting and difficult in the chemical industry. States and the Federal Government keep placing restrictions on cleaning products. Our commitment to you is to bring you quality products that meet all air quality regulations.
